ADT Home Security has been in business for well over one hundred years. ADT provides security services for both business and residential (home) clients. They have a full range of products.

Often, they use a subcontractor to do their selling and installation, so it’s important to note that the service you receive from the installer may not necessarily be indicative of the service you will get as a customer of ADT’s monitoring services.

Many of the customer reviews for ADT appear to be very negative, but in many of these cases, it’s the third party installer that was at fault. Of course, ADT has the responsibility to hire reputable and responsible installation companies, but it is worth noting.

As for ADT’s direct customer service, users of ADT’s Home Security services have reported the following in their reviews:

Several customers applaud the fact that ADT’s monitoring centers are staffed by live people. They will always call when an alarm goes off, to verify its accuracy.

This is a great service in contrast to automatically sending the police when the alarm goes off. If there happens to be a false alarm (for instance, you or your dog trip it), you don’t want the cops coming in with their firearms drawn.

And if that happens a few times, you’ll not be popular with the local law enforcement (someone you definitely want on your side if you are experiencing a home invasion). So, this personal monitoring is a definite plus of ADT Home Security.

One customer excitedly reports that when he moved, ADT moved his entire system without charge. This is only one of several customers who report a fabulous relationship with ADT from the initial contact on, and he contributes that to the fact that he dealt with ADT’s corporate office from the beginning. Many users of ADT recommend that you skip the third-party installers and go straight through the company.

Although there are plenty of reviews with negative reports of ADT’s service, the consensus among consumers seems to be that ADT Home Security is a good company with good products and reliable service. It seems to be the most positive experience when you deal with ADT themselves and not third party companies.
