company as simple
to
use (one button plus a code to turn the system off), reliable, and
subject to high design and testing standards. Consumers seem to be
mostly pleased with the systems and service.
One long-term Brinks customer states that
while the wait on the phones to speak to someone can sometimes be long,
the service from the company and the user-friendliness of the system
more than make up for it.
They say that, in the twenty years since
they
had their system installed, the rates have gone up by about $10 per
month. This seems pretty low for that time period.
They also mention a
great feature on the keypad that allows you to cancel a false alarm by
entering your security code before Brinks calls. (The system is
monitored by Brinks, who will call you at home if they alarm is
triggered.)
Another customer has had Brinks in at least
two locations and is having difficulties in their new home. The home
was previously wired for a non-Brinks security system, and there seems
to be a lack of communication between Brinks, their installation
subcontractor, and the consumer. This is resulting in added fees and
frustration for the customer.
Several consumers warn that the contracts
for the Brinks Home Security Systems are touted as being month-to-month
after the initial contract is up, but this is apparently not the case.
It seems the contract automatically renews, and that salespeople often
state the opposite, whether through faulty training or in an attempt to
mislead the customer.
Aside from this, many people still claim
good
service from Brinks. Of course, you should always read any contract
carefully before you sign it. Even if you do sign it, in most states
you have a waiting period in which you can change your mind.
There are several poor reviews for Brinks,
in which customers site rude contractors, miscommunication and lack of
communication from Brinks Home Security Systems. Obviously, there seem
to be mixed reviews for the company, ranging from very happy, to very
dissatisfied.
